Look how our garden has grown!

Rather astounding times we are living at the moment…we are far from
each other, and yet we might feel very close because we make bigger and
better efforts to stay in touch with those we don’t see…so in the end,
there is a silver lining!

I have to say an absolutely enormous THANK YOU to every one who took
some time and made an effort and got inspired, or managed to inspire
someone else!

Thanks to all your efforts, the garden display on our big board is very
nearly complete…there are a few gaps here and there, and maybe people
might feel encouraged to send the last pictures so we can complete all
the gaps and maybe get a fresh picture…

Making our garden grow

Attached is a picture of the board…I love it!

Coronavirus (COVID-19) St. Paul’s Pre-School Update

I’m sure you are all aware of the international events surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) following the outbreak in China. Whilst the Department of Health and Social Care describe the risk as low in the UK, we wanted to update you with some guidance that we are following at St. Paul’s Pre-School.

As a precautionary measure, those who have recently returned from Wuhan Province (China) have been advised to remain at home and avoid contact with other people for 14 days after they return, even if they do not have symptoms of the virus. This includes staying away from the Pre-School. Children should not be dropped off at Pre-School by anyone who has recently returned from Wuhan and those who have recently returned from Wuhan are advised to contact the NHS on 111 for further guidance. If anyone has plans to visit China in the coming weeks, here is a link to the government’s updated travel advice.

Current guidance states that should anyone return from any of the following countries and experience symptoms of cough, fever or shortness of breath then they should remain at home and call 111, even if symptoms are only mild:

  • Thailand
  • Japan
  • Republic of Korea
  • Hong Kong
  • Taiwan
  • Singapore
  • Malaysia
  • Macau

The UK wide campaign launched to help slow the spread of Coronavirus promotes basic hygiene practices, such as regularly washing hands and always sneezing into a tissue, to stem the spread of viruses. I have attached the poster created by Public Health England for education settings which echoes this guidance. We already have robust infection control measures in place at the Pre-School, therefore these consolidate what the teachers already do and encourage the children to do so also.

Here are some links to provide more up-to-date information about the virus should you wish to have them:
